Instant Pot Lentil Sloppy Joes Recipe

Sloppy Joes are one of those children's foods we still love as adults. Parents loved them because they were easy to make, and we loved them because they were tasty. From its name, sloppy Joes are sure to be tasty. 

– 1 tablespoon avocado oil – ½ onion, diced – 1 green pepper, diced – 3 cloves garlic, diced – 1 carrot, diced – 1 cup dried brown lentil – 2 cups vegetable broth – 1 (6-ounce) can tomato sauce – 2 tablespoons tomato paste – 1 tablespoon soy sauce – 1 tablespoon molasse – 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar – ½ teaspoon liquid smoke – 1 teaspoon chili powder – 1 teaspoon cumin – 1 teaspoon salt – ½ teaspoon smoked paprika – 4 hamburger bun



Activate the Instant Pot's sauté function. The Instant Pot should be heated for two minutes after adding the oil.

Stirring constantly, sauté the onion, green pepper, garlic, and carrots for five minutes.

 Add the smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, broth, tomato sauce, tomato paste, soy sauce, molasses, and apple cider vinegar.

Put the lid on and cook for ten minutes at high pressure. Allow the Instant Pot to release naturally for fifteen minutes after the cook time.

Lift the lid and give it a stir. Top hamburger buns with the lentil sloppy Joe mixture.
