Pepperoni Pizza Biscuits Recipe


The best Pepperoni Pizza Biscuits are made by adding pepperoni, cheese, tomato sauce, and basil to a biscuit recipe!



– 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour – 1 ½ Tbsp baking powder – 2 tsp granulated sugar – ½ tsp cream of tartar – ½ tsp salt – ¼ tsp pepper – ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small cube – 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese – ½ cup diced pepperoni – 3 tsp finely chopped basil – 1 ¼ cup buttermilk – ½ cup pizza sauce


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with Silpat or parchment.Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.


Step 1

Work butter into flour with a pastry blender or your hands until coarse. Stir in shredded cheddar, pepperoni, and basil.


Step 2

Mix buttermilk and pizza sauce into dry ingredients without overmixing. That dough will wet.


Step 3

Knead dough on lightly floured surface until it comes together. Sticky dough needs more flour. Make a ¾-inch dough round. 


Step 4

Cut dough rounds with a 2 ¾-inch biscuit cutter. Rework dough to cut more biscuits 2 inches apart on baking sheet.


Step 5

Bake biscuits until golden, 20–24 minutes.On baking racks, warm or cool before serving.
